1900 brick Victorian in Hartford's Barry Square with the bones already in place. A wraparound covered porch with turned posts and scrolled brackets opens to a foyer with an oak staircase, turned balusters, and a carved newel post. The original details carry through 2,475 sq ft: two carved wood mantels with tile surrounds, a fretwork archway between the front rooms, bay windows with built-in window seats, and hardwood floors in nearly every room. 8 rooms, 4 bedrooms, 2 full baths. Now the work. The kitchen and both baths are dated and ready for a full redo, the hardwoods need refinishing, plaster walls and ceilings need repair and paint, and the yard is overgrown. Gas hot water heat, no central air. Paved driveway and a detached garage on a 0.12 acre lot. Zoned NX-2; buyers to verify any use with Hartford Planning. Estate sale. Subject to probate approval. Bring your contractor. This is the kind of house that pays back the effort.
