Support Staff for an energetic young woman who is a dog-lover and is also bilingual (English, Spanish). This unique role combines live-in companionship and overnight presence with active personal support hours throughout the week when the client is not at work. It is ideal for someone who values a combination of companionship, light caregiving, and the opportunity to positively impact someone’s life. The client is looking for someone who can offer stability and a positive influence, rather than intensive caregiving. Living Arrangements • You will have your own suite including bedroom, private bathroom and walk-in closet in a townhouse in Towson, MD that you will share with the client and another roommate. • You will have access to all shared spaces in the house. • Your portion of the rent would be $1100/month plus utilities and internet that usually run about $150/month. • We are looking for someone able to move in on August 1, 2026. Key Responsibilities • Be available evening and weekends or generally during times the client is home. • Serve as a mentor/coach to help the client reach her goals • Offer gentle guidance and support in daily tasks and decision-making. • Assist client in discovering creative solutions to life’s typical obstacles • Suggest activities that enhance the individual’s emotional and physical well-being • Maintain regular communication with the client’s support team • Alert the client’s team to any concerns about the client’s mental health and emotional well-being. Position Requirements • High school diploma required • First Aid and CPR certifications are required. (Cost of class can be reimbursed after you are onboarded) • Must pass a criminal background check in accordance with Maryland state regulations. • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, a reliable vehicle and auto insurance. • Excellent communication skills • Must like dogs as the client has one who is a very important part of her life • Enjoy physical activity like bike riding, hiking and dog parks • Enjoy music • Prior experience with or understanding of intellectual disability, severe anxiety/depression, and other disabilities is beneficial but not mandatory Benefits & Perks • You can still work another job during the day as long as you are home in the evenings and weekends when the client is home for this job. • Paid Time Off (PTO) • Mileage reimbursement for when you drive the client during active support hours • There is a possibility of reimbursement for health insurance premium—please ask if you meet required criteria if you are interested. • As a live-in caregiver, income from active support hours is exempt from federal and Maryland state income taxes • There is a possibility that you can bring one dog as long as community standards are met and any fees associated with having a dog are paid.
