Welcome to 30 Alba Street, a charming New Englander located in one of Portland's most cherished neighborhoods. A friendly front porch invites you to come and sit while neighbors walk or ride bikes on the sidewalks lining both sides of the street. The current owners have honored the historic character of this home by embarking on well planned updates over the years. A modern, architect designed kitchen opens to a dining area and deck overlooking the spacious back yard, with lovely gardens, a patio and room to play and entertain. The living room features large windows, original woodwork and hardwood floors, while a convenient half bath adds a modern amenity to the main level. The second level features 3 bedrooms with hardwood floors and a full bath. There's more! The third level offers a spacious private suite, complete with separate sitting and sleeping areas and a full bath. Here, large skylights brighten the rooms throughout the day, making the space a pleasure to work or relax in. Another truly unique feature of this home is the effort taken by the sellers to have the original windows restored by a professional historic contractor, thereby preserving their original features, an effort and expense rarely undertaken. Located in Deering Center, a vibrant neighborhood with its own micro-downtown featuring small, independent shops, some new, some long established. An award winning bakery, coffee shop, a market, 3 public schools and a university line the main street of the neighborhood. Playing fields, a library, community gardens, walking and off leash dog trails are nearby. If community, walkable streets, parks and close proximity to downtown Portland are what you are looking for, you have found it at 30 Alba Street. Welcome Home! Please note: Floor plans show interior total measurement as 1612 sq. ft. Seller believes this is the accurate. City shows 1451 sq. ft. (See uploaded floor plans.)
