$895,000

Set on more than seven acres along a quiet country road, this cedar-shingled Cottage combines traditional character with an updated interior. Rustic oak floors run through an open main level, where the living room's fieldstone fireplace and beam mantel anchor the space. The kitchen has cherry Shaker-style cabinetry, soapstone counters, and stainless appliances, and opens to the dining area. Off the living and dining areas is a screened porch with a vaulted ceiling. A main-floor en suite bedroom allows for single-level living, and a powder room serves guests. Upstairs is a second en suite bedroom. The partially finished lower level works well as a home office or gym. Mature plantings, open lawn, and surrounding woodland complete the setting. The perfect country retreat - Macedonia Brook State Park and the Appalachian Trail are close by for hiking, Metro-North is minutes away for travel to New York City, and the shops and restaurants of Kent village are a short drive.
