Sited on nearly seven acres with bold ocean views and a new raised boardwalk providing direct access to Brace Cove Beach, 27 and 29 Farrington Avenue offers an unspoiled coastal ranch-style main house and a rustic guest cottage in one of Gloucester's most ruggedly beautiful coastal settings. The c. 1920 main house, some 40+ ft above sea level, is nestled among enormous boulders, its low profile following the contours of the land blends with the natural landscape. Largely unchanged in character, the single-level home offers three bedrooms and one and a half baths, along with an eat-in kitchen, garden room, dining room, and a generous great room with a vaulted beamed ceiling, pine floors and a substantial fieldstone fireplace. Picture windows oriented toward the ocean offer stunning year-round views over the cleared foreground to the beach, Brace Rock, Bemo Ledge and the Atlantic Ocean. The residence is now easily accessed by a newly cleared gravel drive and parking area in front of the house via Kenwood Avenue or, as it has always been, via a winding footpath through ledge outcroppings and lush vegetation from the parking area in front of the two-bedroom guest cottage and detached two-car garage off of Farrington Ave. As part of the Eastern Point Association, enjoy all that Brace Cove Beach has to offer - swimming, walking, exploring the private beach and Nile's Pond area, and access to join Fort Hill Tennis courts. This special property offers privacy, large acreage, water views, direct beach access and two-dwellings outside of the flood zone - opportunities like this are exceedingly rare.
